Inpatient Hospice Care Partnership
Lima Memorial offers inpatient hospice care in partnership with Putnam County Hospice, which was established in 1996. Lima Memorial Hospital staff members and Putnam’s hospice professionals work together to provide the best care possible. The hospital staff ensures that our patients’ primary care needs are met, while a hospice nurse visits daily to help ease symptoms and provide support.
Why Choose Inpatient Hospice?
Patients and loved ones should consider hospice for caregiving when a physical cure is no longer possible. Lima Memorial offers the choice of inpatient hospice care when:
•A patient is in the hospital and cannot be discharged.
•Returning home is not possible.
•Symptoms cannot be managed effectively at home.
An inpatient hospice stay is typically brief: days, not weeks. It is a time of personal freedom and the ability to make independent decisions, a time to affirm and celebrate life fully every day as alert, comfortable and pain-free as possible.
